Yankees tickets are going to be put up against a wall if they’re expected to deliver a playoff spot, much less an AL East title. The Yankees have been barely keeping pace in the division and could use some good arms to help propel the team over the second half.
But the New York Yankees, usually big players at this time of year, haven’t done much of anything. Which is a mystery since their pitching troubles over the past few weeks have been obvious. How good would it have been if the Yankees had spent some cash and gotten Ubaldo Jiminez?
From this point on the New York Yankees are staking their season on C.C. Sabathia and a faltering Bartolo Colon. Or maybe the Yankees coaches see A.J. Burnett undergoing some type of resurrection. The bullpen is kind of in shambles too, and could use some building blocks.
But the Yankees didn’t get to where they are by being stupid and I’m assuming they know where they are better than I do. We’ll just have to wait and see.
