Yankees and Orioles Now in Dead Heat

Yankees ticket holders ought to batten down the hatches and get ready for what may be the most interesting division race in years. Right now the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles are locked down in a dead heat, each at 79-62, and preparing to head down the home stretch with nary an inch to give.

For New York Yankees fans it’s a disheartening scenario since the Yankees have managed to give up a 10-game lead over the last month or so. What once seemed almost inevitable, an AL East Championship, is now highly in doubt. What’s worse, New York can no longer depend on a plethora of heroes to rise to the occasion. The Yankees roster looks like a litany of walking wounded.

The Baltimore Orioles on the other hand, have to be encouraged by their recent run at the AL East lead. Things are working on that side of the house.

So for the New York Yankees it’s now crunch time. Baseball fans will be watching.
