World Series Tickets – Not for the Sox

by on October 12, 2009 updated October 12, 2009

It’s official now. The Boston Red Sox won’t be pulling off any miracle comebacks to stay in the playoffs. The Los Angeles Angels have taken care of that. It looked good for awhile though. The Red Sox managed to pull out to a lead in Fenway Park yesterday, and Red Sox fans were preparing for another game at the home field.

Unfortunately, the ninth inning rolled around and with it a three-run Angels rally. It was the first playoff sweep in angels history and it cut like a knife into the hearts of Red Sox fans everywhere. Now Boston fans will be home licking their wounds as the World Series unfolds without them. To make it even worse, they could be watching the hated New York Yankees, who look like a real playoff contender. Read em and weep.
