Minnesota Vikings ticket holders have a lot riding on a single ankle. That ankle underwent surgery recently as Brett Favre tries to recover enough to lead the Vikings for another season. Having Favre come back would be huge for the Vikings. The fans in Minnesota got treated to a trip to the NFC Championship and watched the Vikings come withing a hair of reaching the Super Bowl. In fact, if Favre’s ankle hadn’t been knocked gimpy by the Saints, he might have run for a first down on that ill fated play, rather than throw an interception returned for a TD by Tracy Porter. While some cried foul after the game, Favre did not.
Now in 2010 the Minnesota Vikings still look like one of the best teams in the NFC if Brett Favre can return and play at the same high level. In fact, Favre has said the ankle was bothering him prior to the NFC Championship. If he’s feeling better, his play could easily be as good. That’s bad news for the rest of the NFL.
