It’s not a bad bet. With Brett Favre at the helm of the Minnesota Vikings, they should be the favorites in the NFC North. Minnesota won 12 games in the regular season behind Favre and Adrian Peterson and went to the NFC Championship, where they could have beaten the Saints if not for 5 turnovers in a game. Heck, they could have beaten the Saints even with 4 turnovers but Favres’ last interception just positively killed all hope.
So once again an NFL team goes into the season wondering whether Brett Favre will be at the helm of the offense. It used to be the Green Bay Packers undergoing this torment but now it’s the Minnesota Vikings. It’s a big deal. If Favre repeats the performance he put in last season, the Vikings are almost a lock for the playoffs and have to be considered Super Bowl contenders. But if it’s Sage Rosenfels or Tarvaris Jackson running the show, all bets are off. So the Vikings are banking on Favre.
