Roughly halfway through the NFL season we’ve got some big games coming up. While there’s still plenty of football to be played, these games coulput one team in the drivers seat and determine who’s the team to beat heading down the stretch.
The NFC East could easily put three teams into the playoffs. The game to see this week is the Dallas Cowboys visiting the New York Giants. Dallas is 7-1 and firmly in control at this point. The Giants are on a six game winning streak and playing at home. A win here gives them a huge boost.
The Jacksonville Jaguars just got pasted by the New Orleans Saints. At 5-3, the Jags are only a game behind the Tennessee Titans, who in turn, are only a game behind the Indianapolis Colts. A loss makes the Jags a long shot.
The AFC West is still anyone’s to take. The Denver Broncos are racked by injury and falling apart. But they can still salvage a shot at the NFL Playoffs with a win at Kansas City. The Chiefs lead the West at 4-4 but their hold is shaky at best.
The Cleveland Browns can prove that they’re legitimate by playing a solid game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. A win by the Browns would send the AFC North into turmoil. That may be too much to ask for Cleveland fans but in a season that’s already exceeded expectations why stop now?
