Super Bowl tickets are dancing in the minds of many NFL fans right now and rightly so. There are some teams out there deserving of a shot at the ultimate prize. In the NFL, reaching a Super Bowl is a combination of talent, game planning, and to a large degree, luck. Avoiding injury to key players is crucial, as is scheduling and finding a way to approach each game as the one that propels you to further glory. Let’s take a look at some teams that we think have the moxie to earn their fans the right to line up for Super Bowl tickets.

NFC Super Bowl Contenders

Green Bay Packers – After scoring over 50 points in back to back games the Green Bay Packers have to be considered Super Bowl contenders. If I was a Packers fan I’d be looking at getting to Arizona. Aaron Rodgers is hot, the defense is shutting down opponents, and the schedule is very favorable. Green Bay is honing in on the playoffs and a possible #1 seed.

Arizona Cardinals – At 9-1 the Arizona Cardinals have a two game lead over the next best NFC team. You can’t dispute the intensity of their defense or the workmanlike approach of their offense. I have the Cardinals as my second choice in the NFC for a couple of reasons. Drew Stanton is an unproven quarterback right now. He didn’t do much to win on Sunday but he avoided crucial mistakes and was bailed out in large part by his defense and a miserable Lions performance. Arizona must also face the Chiefs, 49ers, and Seattle. I know San Francisco and the Seahawks don’t seem like much but this is still a division rival and those type of games are unpredictable.

NFC Maybes

Despite the loss to the Cardinals, Detroit still has a shot. Avoiding the season ending fade is paramount. Philadelphia is a contender but only if Mark Sanchez doesn’t fade back into his old ways. You can forget any team from the NFC South.

AFC Super Bowl Contenders

New England Patriots – How is it the Patriots stand out every season? Once again New England leads the AFC and seems to be getting better every week. A convincing win against the Colts might have me leaning their way but over the long haul the Patriots come to play football.

Denver Broncos – You can’t count out the Broncos as contenders despite the shocking loss the St. Louis. Hedge your bets though as Denver took a hit with the loss of Manning’s go to guy.

Kansas City Chiefs – If nothing else, the Kansas City Chiefs play solid and fundamental football. They don’t depend on one factor to win they just cover all the bases and don’t make stupid mistakes. Andy Reid has this team believing and if there’s one team in the AFC that could upset the apple cart it’s Kansas City.

AFC Maybes

Andrew Luck must make me a believer but the Colts are a team with a shot. If I had to pick another AFC team I would go with Pittsburgh, simply because Roethlisberger could get hot again, maybe.
