Super Bowl Tickets – Scouting the Field – New England Patriots

Just past the halfway mark in the NFL it’s time to start looking at which teams may have a legit shot at making it all the way to the Super Bowl. We’ll take this a division at a time just to make things easy.

NFL ticket holders know that the road to the Super Bowl often goes through New England and the Patriots are once again going to find their way to the post-season. The Patriots are 9-2 and leading the AFC by a comfortable margin. Tom Brady is being Tom Brady and New England is firmly in control. There are some tough games ahead though and the Patriots may not be in control of the AFC. Their schedule includes a pair of games against the Miami Dolphins which are very winnable and a game in Jackson ville which is pretty much a given. But the Patriots will also have to contend with the San Francisco 49ers from the NFC. While not a conference matchup, this 49ers game could give us an indication of just how strong New England really is, especially on offense.

Even larger is the Dec. 10th game against the Houston Texans. Currently the Texans are in the #1 spot and this game could determine who gets home field advantage come playoff time. My feeling is that the Texans are a more complete team. Not to say that Brady couldn’t pull it out but with the game in Houston I have to lean the Texans way on this one which means the Patriots could travel if they manage the AFC Championship. Of course, the Baltimore Ravens are very much in the picture here but defensively the Ravens are a shadow of their former selves. The AFC boils down to Houston and New England in my opinion.
