Super Bowl Tickets – Not for the Steelers

by on December 11, 2009 updated December 11, 2009

The jinx is alive and well. I don’t know the exact statistics but it’s common knowledge that Super Bowl winning teams have a hard time in the following season. The Pittsburgh Steelers have found that out the hard way. After a Super Bowl season, the Steelers have come back in the 2009 NFL season and laid an egg. A 6-2 start had Pittsburgh Steelers tickets holders counting their chickens. Five consecutive losses have them tearing their hair out and wondering if their heroes can even cop a winning season.

The latest loss is especialy painful, a 13-6 stumble to the lowly Cleveland Browns on Thursday night. To be sure, some of this can be attributed to injury. Ben Roethlisberger was out last week, but even more crucial has been the absence of Troy Palamalu. How the loss of one player can turn a solid defense into a shambles is beyond me but it’s clearly evident in this Pittsburgh Steelers collapse. It’s not the end of the world, the Steelers will be back next year for sure. But like the rest of us, they’ll be sitting at home, wishing they had tickets for the Super Bowl in Miami.
