Right now both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens seem set for the NFL playoffs. The Steelers have already clinched a spot and are now working on getting that all important seeding for a bye. The Ravens are sitting pretty at 10-4 but still have hopes the Steelers will stumble and can be knocked off their perch atop the AFC North.
That isn’t likely to happen. Pittsburgh is set to face off against the lowly Carolina Panthers this week. It would take a miracle for Carolina to pull out a win quite frankly. After that the Steelers have only the Cleveland Browns to deal with. Some might call that a sure win also, but both Saints fans and Patriots fans would take umbrage with that as Cleveland has pulled shockers on both teams in 2010. Let’s just say it’s likely Pittsburgh will get the AFC North.
The Baltimore Ravens road to the playoffs isn’t that much more difficult. Baltimore faces those same upset prone Cleveland Browns and then faces a Cincinnati Bengals team that’s quite frankly in shambles. Santa Claus isn’t likely to show up for either the Bengals or the Browns so Ravens fans should prepare for NFL Wildcard tickets and some travel time in the next few weeks.
