With the Stanley Cup looming and the NHL Conference Finals looming I figured I’d take a look at what I see as a great situation. In the Eastern Conference you’re going to see the Philadelphia Flyers and the Montreal Canadiens battling it out for a Stanley Cup slot. What’s great about this is that neither team has anything to lose. Neither the Flyers or Canadiens were expected to get this far. One of them will play for a Stanley Cup. In a world where odds are calculated precisely and seldom do you see low seeds reaching a pinnacle, this Stanley Cup could be one of those rare occasions when a team rises up in a Rocky-like fashion and shocks the world. It COULD happen.
