The New York Yankees aren’t holding up their end. After being pounded 12-3 by the Cleveland Indians in the first game, New York lost a 2-1 decision Friday night. It took 11 innings and a swarm of gnats before the Indians The buggy bugs obviously distracted Yankees reliever Joba Chamberlain, who let loose a wild pitch for the tying run in the 8th. Chamberlain gave up the RBI single to Travis Hafner in the 11th.
The Arizona Diamondbacks also have a 2-0 lead in their series against the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs are hoping that getting back to the friendly confines of Wrigley Field will change their fortunes. Rich Hill will be on the mound for Chicago. The D’Backs bring a roster of youth and talent to keep the Cubs almost 100 year drought alive another season.
The Philadelphia Phillies head to Coors Field after dropping the first two games of their series with the Colorado Rockies. It’s going to be a tough battle to win two straight road games and stay alive.
