SEC Championship – The Real National Championship

by on December 6, 2008 updated December 6, 2008

I’ve been harping on the power of the SEC all year and nothing proves my point more than the SEC Championship. here are two teams deserving of a shot at the BCS National Championship and one of them won’t make it. Both the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida Gators have proven their mettle all season. They enter the SEC Championship as the two top ranked teams in the country according to some polls. Yet one of them won’t get a shot at a national championship because of the tendency of teams in the SEC to knock each other out of contention. I defy any conference in the country to pit themselves against SEC quality football teams and finish the season unscathed.
