On April 17, the regular season schedule was released for all teams, and the Saints fans have a great list of games to play. The New Orleans Saints’ schedule, in terms of strength, is ranked 11th overall. The regular season kicks off for the Who Dat Nation in New Orleans with the New Orleans Saints facing off with the Washington Redskins.
Off the top of your head, you’re probably thinking that this will be a piece of cake win or a blowout, but the Redskins will most likely have Robert Griffin III in his NFL debut and the Saints aren’t great with defending mobile quarterbacks. RG3 may give the Saints defense some struggles so the Superdome will be rocking with gris gris in the Saints home opener.
The last meeting between the Saints and the Redskins was up in the nation’s capital. The game went into overtime and the Saints won on an 18-yard field goal from Garrett Hartley. The final score was 33-30. Just like the Rams, the Redskins seem to be one of those teams that aren’t on par with the rest of the NFL, but they always give the Saints a run for their money. Of course, with Griffin under center the Washington Redskins become an unknown quantity.
This game should be very interesting and a fun game to watch. The most likely result is that the Saints will win and retain the undefeated home streak from last year, but there is always a mystery team that comes up and beats the Saints.
