Phillies Tickets – No Victorino After Brawl

by on August 8, 2011 updated August 8, 2011

If you were lucky you got to see the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Francisco Giants in a big brawl the other day. It’s one of the amazing things I like about baseball. While the games usually peg along pretty quietly there’s always this huge undercurrent of tension that lies just below the surface.

Lest we forget, Major League Baseball is played and coached by intensely competitive guys who have spent their whole lives fighting to get where they are. careers are made and broken in an instant. So what may seem to the casual observer to be a friendly game, it may not be.

That fact became evident the other day when the Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants game erupted into a brawl that cleared both benches. The Phillies Shane Victorino was in the thick of it and he is now going to pay for it, having been suspended by the MLB for three games. Of course he isn’t going to serve the sentence immediately, the appeal process has to be finished. In my opinion, Victorino would be better of doing now and getting back for a late season run. Just my opinion.
