Penguins Malkin Filling In

by on January 28, 2008 updated April 19, 2014

The Pittsburgh Penguins could have been seriously damaged by the loss of Sidney Crosby. Instead, they’ve turned to Evgeni Malkin. Malkin was the NHL’s rookie of the year last season but nobody expected he could fill the role Crosby has played for the Penguins. So far this season Malkin has contibuted 27 goals and 57 points, a major factor in keeping the Penguins in the hunt for the Atlantic Division. Crosby is expected to be out for two months. In the meantime the fuel provided by Malkin keeps the Penguins humming,.
