NFL Week 2 – I Like Interesting Games

by on September 11, 2014 updated September 11, 2014

NFL games can be interesting for more than one reason. Everyone loves a rivalry and we got plenty of them in Week 1. Now in Week 2 of the season we begin to develop a storyline or two that brings certain games to our attention. Here’s a few NFL matchups that have an interesting point or two about them.

Pittsburgh at Baltimore – The Steelers escaped with a close win over Cleveland. The Ravens, well, they had a bad week in general and it only began with a loss to the Cincinnati Bengals and went downhill from there. Can controversy kill the Ravens in 2014 or will adversity make them tougher?

Miami at Buffalo – To begin with, the Miami Dolphins pulled off one of the biggest upsets of opening week with their defeat of the New England Patriots. I had a good feeling about Miami and picked them to win that game. But I was holding my breath for a while. The Buffalo Bills also surprised a few of us with a win over a supposedly much improved Chicago Bears team. This game on Sunday should help us decide if these teams are for real.

Dallas at Tennessee – I have a friend who keeps telling me the Titans are for real. Everyone says the Cowboys will be a bad NFL team for 2014 and years to come. I tend to believe the latter but need convincing on the former.

Houston at Oakland – The Texans need only a single win to match their win total from last season.

Philadelphia at Indianapolis – The Eagles and Colts both feature offenses that are purported to be deadly. But, the Colts still can’t find a running game and the Eagles struggled for a while against a not very good Jaguars defense. Someone needs to come up with some answers.
