San Francisco 49ers – 2014 Tickets and Preview
The San Francisco 49ers have been so close, so many times. Just being considered a top team in the NFL is difficult, a Super Bowl is a 1 in 32 shot. After back to back heartbreaking losses, one in a Super Bowl and last season’s NFC Championship game, 49ers ticket holders must believe this is their season. The team is still intact, all the pieces are in place.
Colin Kapernick will be a part of any 49ers success. Kaepernick has been magical at times, pedestrian at others but there is no doubt he can do some great things as quarterback. The 2014 NFL season is going to be crucial. The 49ers, understanding that giving Kaepernick weapons is a top priority, resigned Anquan Boldin, added Stevie Johnson from the Buffalo Bills, and are looking forward to having Michael Crabtree back healthy. Toss in Vernon Davis and you have a barbershop quartet of quality NFL receivers.
The 49ers might need the points. The most disturbing thing about the offseason may have been the loss of three starters on the defensive side of the ball as Tarell Brown, Donte Whitner, and Carlos Rogers have all moved on. The draft brought Jimmie Ward in to possibly play nickel, but he’s unproven, though athletic. NaVorro Bowman is also an uncertainty after a gruesome knee injury. This will still be a good defense but the 49ers will be depending on their offense more often in 2014.
The 49ers 2014 schedule is also going to be tough. Playing Seattle twice is no joke and neither are the improving Cardinals or even the St. Louis Rams. The 49ers are also looking at a schedule that includes the Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, and San Diego Chargers. An NFC West title is possible but the 49ers will pay for it with work.
