Thanksgiving NFL football is here, along with turkey, dressing, ungodly and horrid looking cranberry ooze (which I refuse to eat) and various other goodies. In my case, living in Louisiana, the menu also includes gumbo and in the case of my particular family a dish we refer to as “broccoli slime” which is simply broccoli casserole and always in demand. The menu also includes some excellent NFL football matchups that could help decide the NFC West, North, and East and games to which any NFL fan would love to have tickets. Why don’t you have yours? Now, on to my predictions.
NFL Schedule and Tickets
The Eagles and the Cowboys will butt heads in Dallas in a contest between two 8-3 teams trying to capture the NFC East. The Eagles will try and outgun the Cowboys but with DeMarco Murray running the ball might have a hard time getting their offense on the field. But the Cowboys will have a hard time reining in the eagles when they do have their hands on the ball. Without a home field advantage to speak of (Dallas is 3-3 at home) I like the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Chicago Bears are coming off of a pair of wins over weak teams. The Detroit Lions are at home and reeling from some bad losses. Will the Lions begin their late season collapse? I have to make a decision here and I’m going to go with that old standby, defense. Detroit has a better one and they’ll win this one at home.
The best matchup of the day could be the Seattle Seahawks at the San Franciso 49ers. There is so much rivalry and tension in this series and so many back stories. Richard Sherman vs Michael Crabtree. The ongoing Marshawn Lynch fiasco in Seattle. Not to mention that both teams are trailing Arizona and may be fighting for a Wild Card spot. Seattle just beat the Cardinals and the 49ers are winning close games lately. Then again, …..Heck, I’m going with Seattle.Eric Drouant
