NFL Schedule and Tickets

When: Sat August 2 00:00 - Wed December 31 00:00

Ah, the Saturday schedule of NFL tickets. This is how we know our NFL season is winding down, or racing, to the finish line. When we get NFL football on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, things are coming down to the nub. Without further ado let’s toss out our feeling on how these Saturday NFL games are going to play out.

Philadelphia Eagles vs Washington Redskins

The only drama here is how these two teams end the season and I don’t think this is going to be pretty. To put themselves in any kind of position for a playoff spot the Eagles must win out in their last two games. Back to back losses have Philly in a bind and their tiebreaker situation sucks. Which means the Washington Redskins are in for a pounding. Yes, yes, RGIII will be back but the former sensation is a shadow of his former self, playing on a still ailing knee, and won’t make much of an impression today.

San Diego Chargers vs San Francisco 49ers

This game falls along the lines of the Eagles and Redskins except the 49ers are a much better team. Or are they? San Francisco is out of the playoffs, struggling with Colin Kaepernick, and being guided by a head coach with one foot out of the door. If they want to win the 49ers will have to muster some kind of pride factor to get things rolling. But if having a shot at the playoffs doesn’t get your motor going I can’t see pride doing much of anything.

The San Diego Chargers are also in a must win position, falling a game behind in the AFC Wild Card race. A pair of wins, and losses by either Baltimore or Pittsburgh have to happen and in my mind the odds are halfway decent. Expect the Chargers to try and rebound big time from consecutive losses to New England and Denver. Someone will hold or someone will fold. Bank on San Diego holding the line and keep themselves in the hunt.
