The biggest news surrounding NFL tickets is, of course, the matchups that will determine which teams will get to the Super Bowl. We’ve explored these to some extent with our NFC Preview and AFC Preview, and we’ll be getting back to those tomorrow. There’s still plenty to discuss. But there are some other things going on that will affect the quality and selection of NFL tickets in the coming 2014 season so let’s take a look at those. The biggest of these is new coaches.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Trying to get back into competition in the NFC South the Buccaneers went with an experienced NFL coach in Lovie Smith. While Smith hasn’t been able to get to a Super Bowl, he has been able to be competitive and his presence should help the Bucs establish some credibility and get back on track.
Tennessee Titans – The Titans went with Ken Whisenhunt, a coach with a solid background also one with previous NFL experience. Whisenhunt was at the helm with the Arizona Cardinals when they last went to the Super Bowl. He faces a daunting task in Tennessee in finding a quarterback, or developing one, and restoring momentum to a faltering franchise.
Detroit Lions – Looking for someone who can take advantage of the offensive talent on the team, the Detroit Lions have hired Jim Caldwell, former Colts coach and lately head coach at Wake Forest. Caldwell is known as a guy who can develop quarterbacks and has Super Bowl experience as well.
