One thing about the Manning family, they keep NFL tickets rolling. This week both Eli and Peyton stepped up to the plate when it was needed the most. Eli Manning took the field and drove his New York Giants down the field in the final minute, gaining enough yardage to put New York in good enough field position for a game ending field goal that beat the Dallas Cowboys in their brand new Cowboys Stadium.
Not to be outdone, Peyton Manning rallied the Indianapolis Colts from behind several times, the last coming on a TD pass to Pierre Garcon with a little over 3 minutes left in the game to beat a determined Miami Dolphins team. The division win keeps the Colts undefeated so far in the 2009 NFL season.
Let’s face it, we’ll probably never see another pair of brothers in the NFL with this much talent and in this position. Both Eli and Peyton own a Super Bowl ring and have proven to be among the best in the NFL. While you can argue that Peyton has had a better career, Eli is still young and has plenty of time to equal or surpass his brother. In the meantime let’s just enjoy the moment.
