In the NFL Draft, quarterbacks and running backs get major attention. Most NFL fans feel that a good QB or running back is the fastest way to improve a team. Endless preparation goes into looking at these two spots. In today’s NFL world, running is being done with more than one back, but having that killer RB is still looked at as the way to go, example Adrian Peterson.
Heading into the draft there are a few teams with pressing running back needs.
San Diego Chargers – The release of LT opens a new era for the Chargers. Replacing him won’t be possible, or at least replacing a young LT won’t happen. But it’s imperative for the Chargers to get a running back who can come in and start right away.
Detroit Lions – The Lions need to get better at every position. A running back with the capability to be an every down back would be a huge plus. Think Ryan Mathews or C. J. Spiller.
Houston Texans – Matt Schaub can’t carry the team anymore and expect to be a playoff contender. But with a good running game the Texans could break through. Jahvid Best might be a good fit by giving Schaub help on the ground and another pair of hands.
