NFC Parity Hits Big Time

Two Games Remain, Divisions get Settled this Week in the NFC

If the NFL wanted parity they got it in the NFC. With a mere two games remaining, there isn’t a single division in the NFC that has a division champion at this point. Here’s how it shakes out:

NFC East – Dallas holds the edge at 10-4 but a desperate Eagle team is right behind them. This week, Dallas clinches with a win over the Colts (A big if) and a loss or tie by Philly against the Redskins. More probable in my mind is that Dallas loses, Philly wins, and the whole thing gets put off another week.

NFC West – The Cardinals have clinched the only playoff spot in the NFC thus far but now have the Seahawks breathing down their necks. Guess who meets this weekend? Honestly, with the quarterback situation in Arizona, I believe Seattle gets it.

NFC North – The Buffalo Bills put a big kink in this division with a win over Green Bay. Packers must win out but the Lions could surprise. I’m not even going to try.

NFC South – Who knows and maybe more important, who cares. The NFC South Champion will host a playoff game and more than likely host a team with 2 or 3 more wins. I’m picking the Saints but freely admit it’s a homer pick and based on absolutely no confidence of eveidence of decent football from this division.
