New York Yankees Need Another – No Prob

by on October 9, 2010 updated April 19, 2014

The New York Yankees return from dominating the Minnesota Twins needing only one more game to advance deeper into the MLB playoffs. It’s a good situation for New York, a bad one for the Twins. Somehow I can’t see Minnesota ripping off three straight against the Yankees, not the way these pinstripers are playing. Surprisingly it hasn’t been the usual array of Yankee talent that’s been coming through, but the newcomers on the team providing the firepower.

Curtis Granderson cut loose with an opportune triple in the first game, then provided three more in the second. A solo home run and a timely RBI double have marked the Yankee debut of Lance Berkman. Whether the new boys can keep it rolling all the way to the World Series remains to be seen but if they can’t the Yankees probably have a plyer or two to step up.
