Time for some teams to hang it up only halfway through the season. Here’s my take:
Boston Celtics – The rest of the Atlantic Division is fighting for scraps. Barring an 0-41 finish the Celtics will be in the playoffs.
Cleveland Cavaliers - The juggernaut that is Cleveland will continue to roll. The Pistons? An unbelievable, record shattering, myth creating run might do it.
Orlando Magic – A nine game lead in the Southeast isn’t magic. It’s just good basketball in a mediocre division.
Southwest Division – Now here’s an interesting group of teams. The New Orleans Hornets, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Mavericks, and Houston Rockets are all within a few games of each other and all fully capable of winning the division. Too bad they aren’t spread out amongst the rest of the NBA.
Denver Nuggets – Currently leading the Northwest with the Utah Jazz right on their tails. Could get interesting.
LA Lakers – Is there ever a time when the Lakers aren’t in the mix? They are in their usual Pacific division spot.
