Here’s how things stand in the MLB. As you know I predicted earlier in the year that this MLB season would produce some nail biting finishes.
In the AL East the Boston Red Sox are holding on to a 6 game lead over the Yankees. After a strong run that had them closing the gap the Yankees have dropped their last two.
The AL Central has the Cleveland Indians a half dozen games over Detroit and in the West the Los Angeles Angels are 6 games ahead of the Mariners. 6 seems to be the magic number right now.
In the National League things are even closer. The San Diego Padres and Diamondbacks are running neck and neck with the Dodgers a mere four games behind. A single game separates the Cubs and Brewers in the Central while the Mets are clinging to a slim lead in the East.
At this point it’s hard to buy a bad MLB ticket. every single game could spell the difference between the postseason and staying home. Now that the Barry Bonds fiasco is over with it’s time to pay attention to the real winners in the MLB.
