Longhorns now have the Bullseye

by on October 14, 2008 updated October 14, 2008

With the release of the new college football polls the Texas Longhorns have become the newest target for an upset. Throughout the college football season, riding high in the polls has been an almost sure bet to get knocked off the pedestal. As the USC Trojans, Georgia Bulldogs, and Oklahoma Sooners can attest, getting there is half the fun. Staying there is most of the problem.

This weekends college football games saw the Sooners fall from #1, the LSU Tigers fall from #4, and the Missouri Tigers plunge from #3. There’s no guarantee that the teams to replace them will fare any better. In fact, if the past is an indicator of the future, two weeks from now the whole deck will be reshuffled. It’s the nature of the beast. Analyzing and predicting the future are impossible feats to achieve with any consistency. As bookmakers will tell you, you have to hedge your bets. The Latest Top 5:

Texas Longhorns, Alabama Crimson Tide, Penn State, Oklahoma, Florida Gators.
