Kansas Jayhawks – NCAA Champions – It’s All Basics

by on April 8, 2008 updated April 19, 2014

Championship games have a tendency to dissapoint. There have been many Super Bowl wins that were flat out boring. But no sports fan could have been dissapointed with the Jayhawks win over Memphis in the NCAA Championship last night.

Mario Chalmers hit a 3-point shot with a little over 2 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime, then Kansas took over in OT to hang a 75-68 downer around the necks of memhis. If anything, Memphis will be shaking their heads over missed opportunities as free throw woes let Kansas come back when accuracy would have shut the doors. When all is said and done, Championships are won with fundamentals. The Jayhawks were fundamentally better.
