Hornets Sting Celtics

by on January 1, 2011 updated January 1, 2011

With all the attention focused on the Big Three as I call them, namely the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, and Boston Celtics, it’s sometimes hard to remember that there are other teams in the NBA capable of dealing out some points and challenging in the playoffs. Consistency is more their problem than potential.

The New Orleans Hornets are one of those teams. If you recall, the Hornets were hot as fire in the first few weeks of the season, at one point reeling off 11 straight wins. Then came a major slump and the Hornets slipped back into mediocrity. But New Orleans managed a comeback of some sorts last night, dealing an 83-81 loss to those highly regarded Boston Celtics.

It make me hope that somewhere along the line we’re going to see another NBA team, maybe the Hornets, maybe someone else, break from the pack and make a run in the playoffs. It’ll be a nice change.
