Final Four Tickets – Pairing Off

by on March 30, 2010 updated March 30, 2010

Just for a quick rundown of one of the matchups in this years Final Four let’s take a look at Michigan State vs Butler.

State comes to this point after entering as a #5 seed in the Midwest. Wins over Northern Iowa and then Tennessee bring Michigan State to the brink of their 8th Final Four. They’ve won twice, the latest being 2000. So State is no stranger to this position.

The Butler Bulldogs on the other hand are carving out new ground in school history. Winners of 24 straight the Bulldogs believe in keeping the other team from scoring rather than playing a game of trading baskets. They’ll keep Michigan State at bay and away from the inside where their height advantage could be too much.

This matchup between Michigan State and Butler will be a good one, with the edge going toward Butler for fan support and State carrying the onus of tradition.
