The great thing about the Final Four package is that on the way there, you run into the most unlikely events. The Final Four is supposed to match up the best teams in the NCAA and decide a National Championship. But it often becomes a contest of will, a battle between Davids and Goliaths and sometimes the Davids win.
Last night it happened again as Butler knocked off #1 seed Pittsburgh in a stunner that has fans from Pitt reeling and Butler fans looking for even bigger upsets down the line. It all could have gone the other way but the college basketball gods saw fit to advance a team to whom experts gave little credence heading into the tournament.
It’s going to happen again before it’s all over. We don’t know when, but by the time we get down to the Final Four there will be surprise, busted brackets, and talk of miracles. It’s just the way of the whole Final Four package.
