The month of May has opened up with a good showing in the Southern 500. But there’s more to come from your NASCAR tickets. Next Sunday we’ll find ourselves treated to the Fedex 400 at Dover, one of the better tracks in NASCAR. The Fedex 400 comes at a good time of the year, when fans are just starting to get heated up about NASCAR. By now, there are a handful of drivers who have established themselves as the guys to beat. The other will have to step up their game or suck wind all season.
By the time we get around to the Coca Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, May will be practically in the books and the pecking order firmly set. Of course there will still be some drivers who make a final push to get themselves in the running for a Sprint Cup, but the guys at the top have the edges and won’t want to let it go. We’re talking Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, and to me surprise, Dale Earnhardt Jr. yes, you read that right. I’m giving kudos to Earnhardt. As much as I’ve bashed him, he’s in the top five and this might be his year.
