Fans Shine in Arizona

by on October 12, 2007 updated April 19, 2014

In an inspiring moment on Thursday, MLB baseball tickets provided a rare opportunity for fans to express themselves eloquently. During the opening game of the National League Conference Series, Diamondbacks outfielder Justin Upton took a hard slide into Colorado Rockies second baseman Kazuo Matsui, prompting the umpire to not only call him out, but to also enforce a double play. The call resulted in a long delay and the
Rockies leaving the field.

From the stands a rain of bottles, catcalls, and curses fell upon the officiating crew. It was one of the finer moments in sports this year, a reflection of the nobility and good sportsmanship of the American public. It kind of makes me proud to be a member of the sporting world. In this arena you pay your money and you take your ride.

Much to the dismay of Arizona Diamondbacks ticket holders the
Rockies went on to a 5-1 victory and a one game lead in the series. Game 2 is tonight and we wait with breathless anticipation for the next demonstration of good manners.
