Dallas Cowboys fans are longing for another Super Bowl. Every year it seems like the Cowboys are picked as favorites in the NFC. This is part tradition, part roster strength, and maybe part of the whole “America’s Team” syndrome. Anyway, it’s been hard on Dallas Cowboys fans to keep their chins up at the end of the NFL season with the heartwrenching losses in the playoffs.
But in 2010 the NFL is gearing up for another big year from the Cowboys. The franchise has a new facility, and guess what? The Super Bowl will be in Dallas in 2011. That sets up the whole “Let’s be the first team to play a super Bowl in their home stadium” deal. Granted, it’s an interesting thought. I’m sure the Dallas Cowboys, and the NFL, would love to show off the Cowboys satdium and it’s most prominent franchise, all on the same show.
It could happen. The Cowboys defense was the best in the NFC last season in terms of points scored. Tony Romo actually won a playoff game. But they’ve got to finish a season strong. After beating the Eagles, the Cowboys were toasted by the Minnesota Vikings and again ended a good season in a bad way. That can’t happen again.
