Cowboys and Femme Fatales

by on December 19, 2007 updated December 19, 2007

I had to laugh at this one. “Experts” around the country are putting forth the notion that Jessica Simpson is to blame for the poor performance of Tony Romo in last weeks loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. Apparently Romo couldn’t get his mind on football while the femme fatale was slinking around the upstairs luxury box. As if the Eagles defense wasn’t even on the field. As if Romo’s injured thumb was meaningless. As if the guy couldn’t just have a sucky game. Give me a break. If I was a member of the Philadelphia Eagles I’d have a problem with this idea. The fact is the Eagles just came out and kicked butt. Every NFL team, no matter how strong, is susceptible to losing. It happens every week.

Now ask this question. Does T.O. ‘s remark spark the beginning of a divise spat in the Cowboys locker room? Could this be the first step towards the outspoken receivers destruction of another team? Can T.O. possibly shut up, acknowledge that they got their butts whipped, and move on to the next game?

NOTE: I would be remiss in not extending my congrats to the Miami Dolphins on their win last Sunday. Having lived through a 1-15 Saints season, I know the agony. Kiss the monkey goodbye.
