If you’re a college football fan you’ve probably seen some amazing things. Maybe Vince Young winning a national championship or maybe Doug Flutie tossing his eternal bomb down the field. But I bet it’s been awhile since you’ve seen a fluky win like the one the LSU Tigers pulled off today against the Tennessee Volunteers.
With #10 LSU trailing by 4 the Volunteers allowed a sickly LSU offense to drive down the field and get inside the 10 yard line. A few plays later the Tigers were on the 2 yard line. So LSU runs a play and suddenly has no second play when the first fails. It’s mass confusion, players running off and on the field on both sides of the ball. The snap to QB Jordan Jefferson goes awry and it looks like the Volunteers have pulled off a major upset. But wait! Tennessee has 13 men on the field. LSU gets another shot, pounds it across, and snatches a victory away. Only in college football.
