Man, there’s no telling what surprises college football tickets will bring. But of one thing you can be sure. My predictions suck. I spent a good bit of time last week assuring my friend Dancin Dave that his Oklahoma Sooners were still in good shape for a BCS National Championship. I guaranteed a victory over the Miami Hurricanes. In one fell swoop those Miami Hurricanes made me look like a fool (quite an easy task) and beat the Oklahoma Sooners 21-20 (no easy task). I think Oklahoma can kiss those BCS National Championship tickets goodbye at this point.
In other news the LSU Tigers managed an ugly win against the Georgia Bulldogs. The Tigers have made it a habit to post ugly wins in 2009. They’ll have to hope the ugly wins keep coming as they meet up with the Florida Gators next week. Ugly ain’t gonna win that one.
Meanwhile. I’m keeping an eye on Alabama. I know Florida is the fashionable pick but something tells me that the Crimson Tide isn’t going to roll over in 2009.
