College Football – Tebow Tossed, Bradford Sneaks

by on September 26, 2009 updated September 26, 2009

There’s always something happening in college football, one of the things that makes it so compelling. This week it’s upsets and quarterback woes. Sam Bradford, QB for the Oklahoma Sooners, may be injured more seriously than previously thought. Reports of Bradford winging his way to an appointment with a notes surgeon are finding their way into the press.

Meanwhile, the Florida Gators got  a scare when QB Tim Tebow was knocked out of the game in the third quarter of a blowout against Kentucky. Tebow is crucial to the Gators quest for another BCS National Championship Game, and Florida can ill afford his absence. More to come on that story.

Otherwise college football tickets provided some of their usual surprises. the Oregon Ducks probably posted the biggest upset, topping the California Golden Bears, previously ranked #6, by a 42-3 score. You read that right, 42-3. The Virginia Tech Hokies also got into the win column with a 31-7 trouncing of #9 Miami Hurricanes. Not a major upset in the win but pundits expected the Hurricanes to play better.
