College Football – Bama gets Bopped by Gamecocks

by on October 10, 2010 updated April 19, 2014

The Alabama Crimson Tide have been on a roll, winning a BCS National Championship and carrying a #1 ranking well into the college football season. That is going to end on Sunday as the South Carolina Gamecocks posted a 35-21 victory over the Tide Saturday in South Carolina. Between Stephen Garcia and Marcus Lattimore, the vaunted Alabama defense had it’s hands full, too full.

What does this mean for the South Carolina Gamecocks? It means a chance at a major bowl game and renewed respect for a program that Steve Spurrier has been working on for some years now. In fact, Alabama Crimson Tide players are hoping for a chance at revenge……in the SEC Championship. That’s how impressive this victory is for the Gamecocks. There’s still a long way to go for Steve Spurrier and the gang, but knocking off the #1 team in the country is a good way to start.
