Let me get it right out front. The Boston Celtics are one of the best teams in the NBA. An NBA Championship is far from out of the question. So the real inquiry is whether the Boston Celtics, or more to the point Danny Ainge, should be throwing in the white towel.
What white towel? The one he threw in the air in an attempt to distract one of the Cleveland Cavaliers while shooting a free throw. Is that really necessary?
Furthermore, why do we expect good sportsmanlike behavior from team executives? Hasn’t the big money atmosphere and the degradation of common courstest throughout our society convinced us yet that higher ideals have gone out the window like the smelly remnants of a chamber pot? Will we ever learn?
