Cleveland Cavaliers fans have been through a rough year. When LeBron James ditched the Cavs and took his act to South Beach it was a crushing blow for a city that hasn’t seen a real winner in years. The Browns have been weak and the Cavaliers sank to the bottom of the NBA last season while watching James and his new team play for an NBA Championship.
But from the point of view of Cleveland Cavaliers ticket holders, things started to look up as Miami fell to the Dallas Mavericks. And an NBA draft that saw the Cavaliers take Kyrie Irving with the 1st pick, followed by Tristan Thomas with the 4th pick.
Hopefully for the fans in Cleveland, the new beginning, with young talent and a fresh start, will help to erase the memories of 2011. Irving is a solid young talent and someone that can help rebuild the fragile ego of a city in desperate need of a winner. Hope springs eternal.
