Cavaliers – Home Lovin

by on April 11, 2009 updated April 11, 2009

It’s a known fact that home court always gives a tean an advantage. But the Cleveland Cavaliers have taken that maxim to the extreme in 2009, running up an incredible 38-1 record on their home court. For the fan who buys Cleveland Cavaliers tickets, it’s been an incredible run. Imagine going to almost 40 NBA games and watching your favorite team win 38 times. That’s a rare opportunity. Obviously it’s going to go on. The Cavaliers have clinched home court for the duration of the playoffs. How can any team imagine going into Quicken and walking away with 4 wins in any given seven-game series? Just looking at the facts pretty much kills the joy of making the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. The Cavaliers are killers at home.

For the Boston Celtics, and let’s face it, who’s picking anyone but the Celtics and Cavaliers in the conference, it means facing the team with the best record in the NBA in a virtually undefeated home stand. Boston has the guns to do it but it would mean shooting down a record run in the toughest of circumstances. They’ve got their work cut out for them.
