Boston Celtics tickets will be, if nothing else, extremely interesting in the 2013-14 NBA season. Either the Celtics management has taken a large misstep or they’re incredibly intelligent and most NBA experts are wrong. For sure, this Celtics team is different from what we’ve grown used to seeing in TD Garden. And it’s going to change more. In dealing away their biggest names the Boston Celtics have gathered a bumper crop of draft picks for the future.
Kevin Garnett is gone along with Paul Pierce, Jason terry, Fab Melo, and other familiar names. Boston is undergoing a complete makeover and Celtics management is bringing in a host of younger, and less expensive, talent to try and build from the ground up. So Celtics ticket holders should say hello to Kris Humphries, Keith Bogans, and MarShon Brooks and get used to it. Oh, did we mention that Doc Rivers is also gone? Sorry about that. In his place is Brad Stevens. The new man in charge on the court is known as a guy who can teach. Developing this Boston Celtics roster into a contender is now the primary focus.
Boston will field Rajon Rondo at point guard assuming he’s completely healthy again. Let’s hope he is because there’s not much else after that. Avery Bradley is known more for his defense than his offensive prowess from the off guard position but Stevens could improve that. At forward Celtics tickets holders will have Jeff Green, a promising talent who could become a big part of Boston’s offense. Jared Sullinger also has some big hopes pinned to his back after a very promising rookie season. Sullinger is also a possibility to play the center position if needed. A Wild Card in this spot is Brazilian newcomer Vitor Faverani.
The Boston Celtics are engaged in a painful transition. No doubt about that. It;s hard to say goodbye to players who have meant so much to a franchise. But when it’s time to clean house it’s time to clean house. The dividends may not be immediately apparent but Boston Celtics tickets will deliver the goods in one way or another. Some patience may be required.
