Saints Tickets – NFL Week 4 Unbeatens Wage War

This week New Orleans Saints tickets take the front seat among NFL tickets. The Saints will be welcoming the New York Jets to the Superdome in a contest between two of the NFL’s seven undefeated teams. Both the Saints and Jets have been finding a way to win and obviously lead in their respective divisions.

For the New Orleans Saints, who last started 3-0 in 2006 on their way to playting in the NFC Championship, it all begins with Drew Brees and an NFL leading offense. The Saints opened with a bang against Detroit, slammed the Phiadelphia Eagles, then soundly defeated the Buffalo Bills with a strong running game, turnovers by the defense, and good special teams play.

The New York Jets are riding high on the arm of Mark Sanchez and the #1 ranked defense in the NFL. For the Jets it all began with a win over the Houston Texans and really got hot when New York laid a 16-9 win over the New England Patriots. Beating the Titans brings the Jets to 3-0.

While it’s still early in the season, neither the Saints or Jets wants to get that first loss. Saints tickets for the Jets game have gone through the roof and the excitement in the Crescent City is palpable. The Saints and Jets own Week 4 in the NFL.

College Football – Tebow Tossed, Bradford Sneaks

There’s always something happening in college football, one of the things that makes it so compelling. This week it’s upsets and quarterback woes. Sam Bradford, QB for the Oklahoma Sooners, may be injured more seriously than previously thought. Reports of Bradford winging his way to an appointment with a notes surgeon are finding their way into the press.

Meanwhile, the Florida Gators got  a scare when QB Tim Tebow was knocked out of the game in the third quarter of a blowout against Kentucky. Tebow is crucial to the Gators quest for another BCS National Championship Game, and Florida can ill afford his absence. More to come on that story.

Otherwise college football tickets provided some of their usual surprises. the Oregon Ducks probably posted the biggest upset, topping the California Golden Bears, previously ranked #6, by a 42-3 score. You read that right, 42-3. The Virginia Tech Hokies also got into the win column with a 31-7 trouncing of #9 Miami Hurricanes. Not a major upset in the win but pundits expected the Hurricanes to play better.

49ers Tickets for Real?

Man, it seems like it’s been forever since the San Francisco 49ers have been mentioned as a possible NFL playoff team. It may still be too early to be talking about it but that’s never stopped me before. This partly because the 49ers have been playing good football so far in 2009 and partly because the NFC West has been such a weak sister in the conference.

San Francisco is now 2-0, with a win over Super Bowl participant and defending NFC Champion Arizona Cardinals and another over the Seattle Seahawks. While 49ers fans are flying high and even mentioning Super Bowl in the same breath as their team, they have a tough test coming up this week against the Minnesota Vikings. A win would be a big boost for San Francisco while a loss would bum out some fans, but not be a playoff buzzkill. I think this is just a litmus test for how far the 49ers have come and how far they still have to go.

Yankees Punch Playoff Tickets

From all appearances the New York Yankees are back. The pinstripers assured their fans would be enjoying Yankees playoff tickets in 2009, clinching the first playoff spot of the season. Just to celebrate, they posted a 9-5 win over their arch rivals the Boston Red Sox yesterday.

New York is now only three games away from locking down their first AL East title in three years. For Yankees fans it’s been a long dry spell since they became used to that sort of thing during New Yorks reign over baseball in past years. With the Sox down seven games it’s not likely anything will interfere with the celebration. What the Yankees do once they reach the playoffs might be a whole nother story but for now everything is right in Yankeeland.

NFL Tickets Week 3 – My Interesting NFL Games

Each and every week NFL tickets will bring some great matchups and usually some surprises. For NFL Week 3, here are my picks of the games I like:

New Orleans Saints vs Buffalo Bills - What you have here is a contest between what should be two unbeaten teams. Buffalo outplayed the New England Patriots but lost on a fluke fumble. The Saints have totally beaten the Lions and the Eagles. Each team needs this win though, to keep pace in their respective divisions.

Denver Broncos vs Oakland Raiders – The Oakland Raiders already have a win this season. Getting their second win on the backs of the Denver Broncos would be sweet.

San Francisco 49ers vs Minnesota Vikings – The 49ers just might be for real. The team has bought into Mike Singletary. They’ve got their hands full keeping Adrian Peterson in check but could take a big step with a win.

NFL Tickets – Big Week for the Mannings

One thing about the Manning family, they keep NFL tickets rolling. This week both Eli and Peyton stepped up to the plate when it was needed the most. Eli Manning took the field and drove his New York Giants down the field in the final minute, gaining enough yardage to put New York in good enough field position for a game ending field goal that beat the Dallas Cowboys in their brand new Cowboys Stadium.

Not to be outdone, Peyton Manning rallied the Indianapolis Colts from behind several times, the last coming on a TD pass to Pierre Garcon with a little over 3 minutes left in the game to beat a determined Miami Dolphins team. The division win keeps the Colts undefeated so far in the 2009 NFL season.

Let’s face it, we’ll probably never see another pair of brothers in the NFL with this much talent and in this position. Both Eli and Peyton own a Super Bowl ring and have proven to be among the best in the NFL. While you can argue that Peyton has had a better career, Eli is still young and has plenty of time to equal or surpass his brother. In the meantime let’s just enjoy the moment.

Florida Gators Tickets – Enjoy the Ride

The Florida Gators are cruising to another BCS National Championship. Just ask anybody. Playing the season is just an exercise to keep fans entertained. At leat that’s the opinion of my friend Charlie, who maintains his Gators attitude in the midst of an LSU Tigers crowd.

Truthfully, it wouldn’t surprise me to Florida hoist that crystal trophy. The Gators have enough talent and Tim Tebow. But in this ever changing college football landscape, one weekend can alter the course of a season. Oklahoma Sooners fand are sweating right now as an example. For Florida to pull off the whole BCS thing again, health will be important and it can change in a moment. Remember that Charlie.

NASCAR Tickets – Begin the Chase

NASCAR tickets now bring us The Chase, where the leaders of the sport will be the only ones in the race with a shot at winning the whole enchilada. To my mind, I’d like to say Jimmie Johnson will take the prize, but I have a hard time putting my heart into it. The guy has been dominant all season and I’m an underdog kinda guy.  Busch, Carl Edwards, or even Denny Hamlin would be preferable from my point of view.

But as they take to the track in New Hampshire this weekend, and if I was a betting man, guess where my money would go?

New Orleans Tickets – Something for Everyone

My favorite ticket site is now featuring New Orleans tickets, or everything you ever wanted to do in the greatest party city in the world. Here’s a sample:

Creed Tickets – At the new Orleans Arena, so you can easily go see Creed, hit the French quarter, and get hammered.

Butthole Surfers Tickets – If you can get past  the name you can see the Butthole Surfers at the House of Blues. It’s already in the French Quarter so…..

Saints Tickets vs Jets – Oct 4 – An NFC vs AFC battle I think will be well worth seeing live.

New Orleans Hornets Tickets – Pick em/ Either against the Thunder on Oct 10 or vs the Pacers on the 17th.

Dallas Cowboys Tickets – It’s the Romo Era (Really)

Dallas Cowboys tickets have always been one of the top NFL tickets. But it’s been over a decade since the Dallas Cowboys have won a playoff game. yet, for the last three years they’be been considered Super Bowl material only to dissapoint the fan base and the rest of the NFL.

Now the Cowboys have jettisoned some big names and pinned their hopes on Tony Romo. Or have they? It’s certainly true that Romo has been one of the better quarterbacks in the league if it’s not playoff time. The dilemna is that quarterbacks are judges primarily on what they do come playoff time. Most people can’t tell you what Tony Romo has done in the regular season but they will relate in detail what happened in his last two playoff games.

So is it really the Tony Romo era in Dallas? Only to the extent that Romo remains the only media darling. he’s a big one though and that hasn’t made his life any easier. With T.O. and PacMan out of the picture, Tony Romo is the biggest headline grabber in the Dallas football world. the reality in football terms is that though Romo is expected to produce, the Cowboys will be shifting much of the offensive burden to the running game, and lifting some of the burden off his shoulders. In that sense it is a new era in Dallas but whether it’s the Tony Romo era is still debatable.
